| Dr.G.Balasubramanian was graduated from coimbatore medical college coimbatore in 1988. After completing post graduate training in orthopaedic surgery from the university of Bangalore he obtained Diplomate of from National Board of Examinations of India. In 1995, he went to United Kingdom and worked in many Internationally renowned orthopaedic centres including The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt orthopaedic hospital at Oswestry, The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital at Birmingham, and The Hartshill orthopaedic centre. While he was working in Oswestry with Professor Richardson he got excellent training in Hip surgery especially Hip Resurfacing and Hip Arthroscopy. He also involved in Autologous Cartilage Implantation, a new technique to prevent Arthritis. In Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Birmingham he worked with Dr. R B C Treacy, one of the inventors of Hip Resurfacing. He was awarded fellowship (FRCS) by Royal college of surgeons of Edinburgh in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery after successfully completing intercollegiate examination. Dr.G.Balasubramanian
currently working as Hip Resurfacing and Joint replacement surgeon
at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Coimbatore, South India. He is one
of the national teaching faculty involved in teaching and demonstrating
this new technique to other surgeons. He has been invited to places
all over India to give lectures on Hip Resurfacing and Joint Replacement.
He organised a Hip Resurfacing conference during which he performed
live surgery to demonstrate other orthopaedic surgeons.
