EXPERIENCE IN MINIMAL ACCESS SURGERY

Appendicectomy and hernia repair.

Assisted in Laproscopic oesophageal mobilisation for oesophagectomy, fundoplication and pre-peritoneal hernia repair.

Whilst in this post I organised an emergency health camp for victims of natural calamity.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I was involved in teaching undergraduate medical students at Preston Royal, Inverclyde Royal and at Kingston Hospital.

AUDIT
I have been an active participant in regular audit in all the NHS hospitals in which I have been employed. The following audit study was undertaken.

Post – operative wound infection rate in West of Scotland.

SPECIALISED CLINIC
With the guidance of my consultant, Mr Morrice, I conducted the breast and vascular clinic in the West of Scotland and Inverclyde NHS Trust Hospital.

RECENT PROJECT
One hundred cases of Laproscopic Pre-Peritoneal Hernia Repair – o –going study to be completed in December 1998.

Case report of Abdominal Cocoon, to be published in Transplant Surgery Journal.

FUTURE CAREER PLAN
I would like to pursue a career in gastrointestinal surgery.
