The
department of Ophthalmology has started functioning
since 1975, with only Eye Surgeon. Ten years later
it is functioning with an Assistant. Cataract surgeries
with eye lens and other common surgeries were done
initially by eye surgeon alone. In 1990 road traffic
accident cases were attended with Neuro surgeons
follow up. Traumatic injuries around eye, glaucoma
and contact lens surgeries are performed. School
medical check ups are taken up frequently.
