1. Brush your teeth before going to bed
Most of us tend to forget to clean our teeth at night. Yet brushing before bed helps get rid of the germs and the plaque that accumulates every day.
2. Brush properly
Do not rush, rotate the toothbrush in soft, circular moves to remove the plaque. Unremoved plaque may stiffen, leading to buildup of the calculus and gingivitis (early gum disease).
3. Don’t neglect your tongue
Plaque may develop on your tongue, too. Not only does this lead to a bad odor in the mouth, but it can lead to other oral health issues. Clean your tongue gently every time you brush your teeth.
4. Use a fluoride toothpaste
When it comes to toothpaste, there are many more important things to watch out for than whitening strength and tastes. Make sure it includes fluoride, no matter the variant you pick.
5. Visit your dentist regularly
Even the most diligent brushers and flossers ought to see a dentist on a regular basis. Not only will the dentist remove the calculus and look for cavities, but they may also be able to detect possible problems and provide treatment options.
