Total Liver Transplant:

For certain persons with liver cancer, a liver transplant may be the best option. Liver transplants may be a possibility for people who have tumors that can't be removed by surgery, either because of their location or because the liver has too much illness for the patient to accept removing a portion of it. In general, a transplant is used to treat individuals who have small tumors that have not expanded into surrounding blood arteries (either one tumor less than 5 cm wide or more than one tumor no larger than 3 cm).

Patients with resectable cancers may also find it to be an uncommon choice (cancers that can be removed completely).

The new transplanted liver will also function normally.

You'll be sedated during the procedure because liver transplant surgery is performed under general anesthesia.

To access your liver, the transplant surgeon makes a lengthy incision across your abdomen.

The size and placement of your incision depends on your surgeon's approach and your anatomy.

The surgeon removes your damaged liver and replaces it with a donor liver. Your blood arteries and bile ducts are then connected to the donor liver by the surgeon. Depending on your situation, surgery can take up to 12 hours. It is important that you choose the best hospital for liver cancer.

Liver cancer is divided into four stages, depending on which the treatment is analyzed. The stages of cancer is classified as:

Stage 1: A single tumor is found in the liver tissue.

Stage 2: A single tumor is found but the cancer is spread to the blood vessels, or maybe another small tumor is formed in the liver.

Stage 3: There are many tumors, at least one of which is more than 5 cm in diameter, or the cancer has spread beyond the liver to large blood vessels, another organ, or lymph nodes.

Stage 4: The cancer might have advanced to various parts like lungs and bones.

A lump behind the rib cage, pain on the right side of the abdomen, or pain near the right shoulder are all possible symptoms. Jaundice is a type of jaundice that occurs (a disease that causes skin and eyes to yellow), weight loss, sickness, or a loss of appetite that isn't explained, fatigue, urine with a dark color, and bloating are the signs of liver cancer.

Liver tumor surgery involves a couple steps in the procedure. Before the procedure the patient is given the complete information of the procedure. Partial liver resection is considered when the tumor is restricted to a small area. The tumor and surrounding tissue is removed. In cases of advanced cancer stages a liver transplant is performed.

Diagnostic procedures like blood tests, liver function tests, imaging tests like MRI and endoscopy, and also biopsy is performed.
