FAQ Questions? Answered!

After death, everyone is a prospective organ and tissue donor. However, cancer, HIV, infection (such as sepsis), and intravenous (IV) drug use prohibit donation.
Tissues such as the cornea, heart valves, skin, and bone may be donated in the event of natural death; however, essential organs such as the heart, liver, kidneys, intestines, lungs, and pancreas may only be donated in the event of "brain death."
You may be able to give one of your kidneys, one liver lobe, a lung or part of a lung, a portion of your pancreas, or a portion of your intestines as a living donor.
