Dr.Sekar Michael graduated from Tirunelveli Medical College and undergone post-graduate training at Christian Medical College, Vellore. He worked as an Assistant Professor of Anaesthesiology at PSG IMSR, Coimbatore, and subsequently became Professor of Anaesthesiology at Vinayaka Mission Medical University. He served as the Professor & HOD, Department of Anaesthesia at Karpagam faculty of medical sciences & research Coimbatore for three years.

His passion for chronic pain management started during his days at CMC, Vellore as a Post Graduate resident. He continued to get trained and practiced Interventional procedures as he practiced Anaesthesia. He obtained a fellowship in advanced pain interventions at Daradia &Aesculap, Calcutta. He is also the Editor in Chief Tamil Nadu Journal of Anaesthesia(TNJA).
